The Present Simple is used for

Actions or situations that are general or habitual. We use it for something that happens all the time or repeatedly, or for something that is true in general.

Contractions:

do not   >   don’t         
does not >     doesn’t

Exceptions for he/she/it: 1.- have  >   has 2.- add es for verbs ending in ss, sh, ch, x, zz and the verbs go and do fuss fusses wash washes catch catches fix fixes buzz buzzes go goes do does 3.- with verbs that end  in a consonant followed by y, change the y to i and then add es. cry cries study studies With verbs that end in a vowel followed by y, there is no change –just add s for he/she/it play plays enjoy enjoys
